So you want to make a quilt! GREAT. There are absolutely no limitations to what you can create. You can quilt for yourself, for that new baby, or new mother, that sports fan, or just that someone special. You can even quilt for charities.
I must warn you, quilting can be a bit addicting! With every quilt, you create you will build upon your knowledge with every stitch. From choosing your pattern, size, fabrics, thread…. the excitement grows!
If you choose to purchase a quilt, that too can be fun as you can decorate a whole room around one quilt.
My journey into the world of quilting…
I went to a local fabric store, picked out a pattern and began to wonder around looking at all of the material. My luck had it that a very nice woman assisted me with fabric choices and explained how to match colors and tones. From there I picked it up easily, as you will too if you haven’t already reached this stage. After that first quilt, I just had to have one to work on at all times. It is a very relaxing and fulfilling hobby. My next big step was to make a quilt for an auction. It was a tropical theme, I must say it was for a great charity and I was proud to have been able to donate something I had made myself. From that point, I was hooked and proud to have a hobby I enjoy.
I can assure you that you will find quilting as enjoyable, rewarding and relaxing as I do. I am here to answer your questions, share suggestions and ideas to create your own masterpieces!
